Caribbean Kitesurfing Safaris

'Anywhere the wind blows'

Surfari

Chasin' da wind

Your KiteSurfari adventure starts in the windward island of St Lucia and a typical itinerary might look like this:

Day1:
After provisioning the boat at the local markets to get your choice of food, we enjoy a barbecue dinner and then sail overnight for the island of St Vincent. You will wake up the following morning at anchor in spot with a variety of breaks for all who like to shred the warm, clear waves, or just carve up the flat water inside the reefs. Our fast RIB boat will be on stand-by, with someone taking photos and assisting.

Day 2:
We set sail early for Mayreau, a little island with a whole lot of kitesurfing. After anchoring in Salt Whistle Bay and enjoying an energy breakfast to set you up for the day, we head ashore and hike to opposite coast. Across a sandspit, you can kite the leeward side of the sandspit where there is glass- flat water or else enjoy the long runs and variety of waves on the reefs of the windward side.
A beach barbecue (hopefully with our catch of fresh fish) and few cocktails is a great way to end the day in Mayreau. Strangely enough, this is true of most islands!

Day 3:
We head off early to the skipper and first mate's favourite spot on Union Island - a very well kept secret in the Caribbean. Arriving in time for breakfast, you'll want to consume this rapidly because when anchored in this bay on a windy day its hard to sit still ... you just have to kite.
Spend the day kiting offshore winds, glassy water and mile long runs or venture into the small, friendly village, explore some of the awesome hikes in the hilly peaks of the island or snorkel on the reefs in this sheltered bay.

Day 4:
We sail for the island of Canaoun, home of a huge Donald Trump golf course and resort, where thankfully they have given us access to the most amazing lagoon with runs of 2 miles long in pretty flat water and some sick waves on the outer reef passes.
We pile our gear into a local taxi for a 5-minute ride over the hill and are dropped off at the beach for an afternoon session returning to the boat for dinner and a few rum cocktails.

Day 5:
We sail to the island of the rich and famous - Mustique. After mooring in a beautiful bay, checking out the surf at the breaks surrounding the boat for those who like a bit of fun in the waves without a kite, we jump into a local taxi, pickup truck with seats in the back, and head for the windward beach to play in some of the waves at a beautiful empty sandy beach for the afternoon. Dinner can be on the boat or at one of the local restaurants or bars.

Day 6:
We set off early for St Lucia, arriving in time for an afternoon kite session at Anse de Sable beach in Vieux Fort. Here you'll enjoy the sideshore breeze, fun natural kickers provided by the shorebreak and end the day with a few drinks and dinner at The Reef restaurant right on beach.

Day 7:
We build in an extra day as folks usually love one spot so much that one day is simply not enough! ... And of course all trips are totally customized.

Other possible trips might be:

A one-way trip from St Lucia that ends in Grenada a week later, or if you want to join the boat for just a few days, fly in and out of Union Island in the Grenadines. Longer trips may be booked, but pricing is based on multiples of the weekly rate

In the summer months we also offer Venezuelan trips to Los Roques, Tortuga, Coche and Cubagua.

Other stuff to do

There are lots of extra-curricular activites to indulge in if you get sick of kiting! Many of the islands; Union, St Vincent and St Lucia especially, have some amazing hikes, including the hike up the Soufriere volcano in St Vincent.
Of course there are some breathtaking corals to be seen, many swarming with colorful fish of all shapes and sizes and we have snorkelling gear on board but you are welcome to bring your own.
Diving in the Caribbean is pretty good too and the best in the region is in the Grenadines. Bring your own gear or we can organize dives with dive operators in various islands.
